It is not especially smart, and it is not especially lovable. It is, however, laugh-out-loud funny at times, and, that, for a comedy, may be all that matters. The Neil Diamond-infused, solidly cast film is very rough around the edges, but it is a lot of fun. Revolving around a young man whose friends grow to despise his overbearing girlfriend, the film follows as those friends resort to a series of outlandish measures to end the relationship. Absurd, sometimes dark, and completely ridiculous, the film story supplies plenty of opportunities for physical comedy and verbal barbs.
Looking and listening too closely will reveal clumsy edits and dialogue, but the film becomes too…. But I also watched a lot of movies on the Campus Movie Channel.
