When other people are successful, you will celebrate rather than be jealous of them. If you are a mature person, you will not let any success go to your head. You will treat people fairly and respectfully no matter what. Being stubborn, rigid, sulking, and pointing fingers is only something that immature people do. Life is about learning and you can always strive to be a better version of yourself.

While the world respects us for spiritual quotient, are we endangering our own legacy by setting aside maturity and far-sightedness in favour of puerility and short-term benefits? Rather than take responsibility for our actions, we are happier pulling others down and bent upon proving our own worth and correctness. Each of us has a responsibility to attain maturity and self-awareness as we grow up. Some mature early in life; others never mature, even as they age.

Yes, maturity is not a natural consequence of growing up. Age cannot guarantee maturity. What can ensure that you achieve a mature outlook to life is — a willingness to learn from your experiences, having the flexibility to change and adapt, and the large-heartedness to respect the differences and viewpoints of others. Maturity can be learned rather than acquired. It is a discipline rather than a trait.

Well, I'm not sure that we can be mature in every situation that presents itself to us because we are always growing and learning as human beings, and I'm pretty sure that all of us have been guilty of at least some of these negative behaviors at least once in our lives.

That being said, by considering these 25 tell-tale signs, perhaps we can be more aware of the interludes in which our whiny, adolescent self rears its immature head Being aware and considerate of others as opposed to being self-absorbed, self-centered, and inconsiderate. Not taking everything personally, getting easily offended, or feeling the need to defend, prove, or make excuses for yourself. Taking responsibility for your own health and happiness, not relying on others to "fix" you or placing blame for your circumstances.

Doing good deeds even when there is nothing in it for you other than knowing you helped, being selfless. Respecting another's point of view, beliefs, and way of life without judgment, not insisting you are right, belittling another, or using profanity or violence to get your point across.

Thinking before acting and having good manners, not going off half-cocked, lashing out, or being rude. Recognizing that which does not work in your life and making an effort to do something different. Standing up for fairness and justice for yourself and others and choosing to do the right thing.

By studying these common behaviors of mature individuals , you will be able to incorporate them into your everyday life and become that mature, graceful, and good person you have always wanted to be!
